West Coast way of thinking is evident in the clothes we create and the fashion trends that locals follow. Living in harmony with our environment is important to us, and being on the coast makes it easier, given the breathtaking beauty of the place. Fashion Splash began in 2014 at the Ship Point Pier in the Inner Harbour of Victoria, outdoors and on the water. Initially, there were only a handful of designers, but that has changed.

We believe that we are on the verge of making a name for ourselves on the world stage as some of the most unique and original designers out there. This show is all about providing designers with a platform and getting feedback on their designs, helping each one grow.

MIND BODY SPIRIT EXPO

9/20/2023

Last weekend's Nomad's Mind Body Spirit Expo was an exceptional event that you missed if you weren't there. It's rare to find a gathering of like-minded individuals in one place, but this expo brought together a holistic community dedicated to promoting body awareness, mental alignment, and spiritual connection.

Nomad regularly hosts a variety of events, but this one was particularly special. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of holistic practitioners, including teachers, massage therapists, herbalists, writers, artists, healers, psychics, aura readers, and vibrational sound and light workers. The focus of the event was on alternative forms of healing, and attendees were encouraged to ask questions and try out different approaches to promote good health.

This was our first event of its kind, but it certainly won't be the last. Keep an eye out for future opportunities to connect with the holistic community at Nomad's events.

We currently have a limited number of openings for artisans at the upcoming Homestead Market on August 12th, which is the second event of a two-part series. The market is located in a well-established area surrounded by Bear Mountain, and the ambiance is reminiscent of the renowned Filber Festival. Our goal is to expand the event and create a similar atmosphere over time.

The center of Caleb Pike Heritage Park is a beautiful orchard surrounded by pathways that connect several buildings. Three of these buildings are considered heritage sites: the Caleb Pike House, made of squared logs and dating back to 1883, the Schoolhouse built in 1893, and the Teacherage. At the back of the park, visitors can find the caretaker's house, which is a replica of the Gregory home, a woodshed made of squared logs, and a museum. The park is the heart of the Highlands community's heritage values, and some of its buildings have been deemed significant enough to be listed on the Provincial and National Heritage Registers.

The park will hosts a collection of skilled vendors who create handmade goods using traditional methods. The event will feature workshops and live music, with more details to come soon.  for more info Click Here
