Nomad is bringing the Artist Community to Recovery Day in Victoria
In celebration of Recovery Month this September, the Umbrella Society and New Roads Recovery (Our Place Society) are joining forces to present a revitalized and dynamic event focused on recovery. Recovery Day Victoria 2024 (RDV’24) will take place on Saturday, September 21st, at Central Park in Victoria, BC. This event marks the return of recovery celebrations to the province’s capital, the first since 2018.
• Main Stage Entertainment: Enjoy live performances from local artists and comedians, including acts such as Nautical Disaster, The Peachy Sundays, The Coast, Oakes, Covers In A Dangerous Time, and local comedian Steev Letts.
• Speakers: Individuals will share their personal stories of recovery, providing inspiration and hope to attendees.
• Family Fun Zone: This area will include an inflatable park, a dedicated kids' stage with special entertainers, crafting stations, face painting, and other family-friendly activities.
• Vendors: Explore a diverse range of vendors offering a variety of products and services.
• Food Trucks: A selection of food trucks will be available, offering a variety of cuisines to attendees throughout the day.
• Service Providers Area: We will feature information on substance use and recovery services, providing valuable resources to those in need.
This event represents a new beginning and the start of an annual tradition that will demonstrate that recovery is possible for everyone, and that there is life beyond addiction.
